We Moved Across The Street!
THANK YOU: Big thank you to everyone who comes by to get coffee each morning. Thank you for bearing with us as we go though our growing pains! Tomorrow we are moving the trailer back a bit to leave more room for overflow traffic. We are doing our best to run the funding trailer as a drive thru. This is for convenience you and help keep things in order as our funding team is in training! Our new funding baristas are Lori, Lordes and Khyra. They are all amazing people and we will be sharing there stories soon!
MORE THAN COFFEE: Every coffee you get is a donation to our project and funds our outreach events and project. As we grow, we are dedicated to connecting local veterans and people suffering with mental health issues with a network of mental health resources and any other services they may need. This starts by serving quality coffee and forming strong relationships in the community.
GROWTH AND VISION: Once our funding coffee shop operation is up and running smoothly we will begin expanding our outreach program. Any contributions will be directly used to open and fund a brick-and-mortar coffee shop in downtown Houston. This will be a completely free location where people in need can gather, whether it be to just grab a cup of coffee or to utilize the many services we will offer.
These services include but are not limited to:
* Access to a network of physical and mental health resources in the area
* Professional help finding and applying jobs, housing, grants and more
* Regular group therapy sessions led by specialists
This physical location will act as a safe space for veterans to find assistance programs they may not have heard of and get help applying. Having a brick-and-mortar location will mean they have a dependable spot to access computers and knowledgeable help.
